soon alter leaving bt.Louis we crossed the Mississippi River and then crossed into Illinois. The trip across the state was short and uneventful. Shortly after entering Indiana we ate breakfast and lunch both at around 2:30. It was about 3:15 before we started on our way again. We soon came into Indianapolis and stayed there a while for repairs on the bus. Before we pulled out of the city it was around 5:30 p.m. Knowing that it would be a long time before we reached Columbus, time was taken up in various ways. Some boys read, others played cards, and others just talked. At last we reached Columbus and set our gear in the Armory, The time was 11:00 and being hungry, we immediately headetf
fbr~ slipper'? AiteV a" 'JbiSf supper, we scattered to do what we wanted for the rest of the night. Most of the boys went bowling and the others went mostly out to see the town. We even played basketball at 5:00 in the morning. This ended a long day.
August 17, 1963--This morning we headed home. Even though we all had a wonderful time, I am sure we were all glad to be heading back. We left Columbus at about 8:30 a.m. The trip through Ohio was just about the same as we had gone on before. Shortly we entered Pennsylvania on the Pennsylvania Turnpike. We stopped at a roadside rest and ate breakfast at about 1:30 p.m. We rode down the turnpike until we hit Bedford, Penn. There we stopped to rest and to eat lunch. It was about 3:00 and we telephone ahead that we would reach Winchester around 8:30.
