Robert Lee Miller, 99, Dies
One of Rappahannock's oldest residents, Robert Lee Miller, 9*97 of Amissville.died Thursday, September 26 at his residence. Mr. Miller was born November 13, 1863, the son of William Henry Miller and Ann Terrier Taylor. He lived at the home place “Poplar Shade" on the Richmond Road near Ben Venue his entire life. Surviving Mr. Miller are two nieces, Mrs. W. F. Moffett, Sr. of Washington, Va. and Mrs. A. C. Latham of Amissville; three nephews, Sen. Curry Carter, Staunton, Aubrey M. Anderson, Maxwell, Calif., and Capt. Edward Miller Qf Gales Ferry, Conn.
A graveside service was neia at 2;30 p.m. Saturday in the family cemetery at “Poplar Shade" where five generations of the family are buried. The Rev. Arnold Sorrell, pastor of Washington and Flint Hill Baptist Churches, officiated.
Pallbearers were Floyd Hitt, Herbert Hitt, Joe D. Keyser, Maurice O'Bannon, William F. Moffett, Jr., J. Richard Latham, Dr. John Snead, and Brue 'Wood.
Geest Funeral Parlors were in charge of arrangements.
