1955 through grants from the Ford Foundation and the Carnegie Corporation of New York. An additional Ford Foundation grant to extend the Merit Program through 1970 was announced in 1962. In the period 1956-63, about 7500 students have received Merit Scholarship awards and thousands of other high-scoring students have been assisted in obtaining financial aid from other sources.
H.D. Club Schedule
The Castleton Home Demonstration Club will meet on Tuesday, October 8, at 1;30 p.m. in the Castleton Fire Hall. The program will be on gift ideas to make at home. All ladies of the community are invited to attend. The Amissville Home Demonstration Club will meet at the Amissville Fire Hall on Monday, October 7, at 7:30 p.m.
