Paige Allan Young of Fredericksburg, her courtesy brother, wore a formal wedding gown of peau de soie with insets of Alencon lace accented with seed pearls and designed on princess lines with a flowing chapel train. Her shoulder-length veil fell from a crown of Alencon lace and seed pearls, and her bouquet was a royal cascade of stephanotis, white roses and a white orchid. Miss Laura Fleming Melton, the bride’s only sister, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Mrs. William Hugo Jennings of Burlington, N.C.,Miss Dorothy Mae Denton of Chapel Hill, N. C., Mrs. Robert Earl Ryburn and Miss Elizabeth Anne O’Mara, both of Richmond. The maid of honor wore a street-length dress of gold peau de soie with matching accessories. The bridesmaids dresses were also of peau de soie in cranberry. They carried cascades of bronze fugi mums. Wade Hampton Massie, III of Washington was his brother’s best man. Ushers were James Fletcher Massie, brother of the groom, William Guerant Eastham, nephew of the groom both of Amlssville; Dr. William Hugo Jennnings of Burlington, N. C., and Harry Lee Barker of Richmond. Immediately following the Qeremony a reception was held in the fellowship hall of the church. Assisting in greeting guests were Professor and Mrs. Roy Nelson Puckett of Richmond, and assisting in serving and other capacities were Mrs. Warren Lee Wilbur of Alexandria, Mrs. Paul John son Cord and Mrs. Charles Compton Turner, both of Richmond, Miss Elizabeth Riddie of Arlington and Mr. and Mrs. Leo Nelson Revercomb of Arlington.
The bride’s mother wore a moss green satin brocade jacket-dress with matching ac cessories and a corsage of talisman’s roses. The groom’s mother wore a blue suit with beige accessories and a corsage of white roses. When the couple left for a northen trip, the bride was wearing an ensemble of autumn green and aqua, accented with matching green accessories with the orchid from her bouquet.
