Aboard the *Mlss Pam*, Allor was the first to go Into action as a 40 pounder hit his lively eel and consumed 30 minutes of fishing time as Max skillfully played him to the gaff on a 15 pound test line. Netherwood was high man with 2 in the boat, young Sparshott landed 1 and Gooch connected with a 55 pound fighter that burned his fresh water thumb and almost pulled him overboard. Several others were hooked and lost during the 6 hours of fishing. "Miss Pam* was high boat though and won the fun tournament.

The U. S. >rmy Corps of Engineers have settled on a Potomac River Basin plan that calls for a high dam on the river a few miles upstream from the Capitol. Copies of the plan^are now in the hands of the Governors of the several states affected. The plan is opposed by Virginia and Maryland Congressmen. the National Wildlife Fed
oration, the National Parks Association and the Virginia Wildlife Federation among others. The Governors do not have veto powers on the plan, but they do have until July 23 to file protects.
