Receive Awards
The Court of Honor held at the Singing Towers of Luray on June 14, Tim Kilby, Mike Titchenell and Leslie Titchenell received Gold Palms for their Eagle awards. To receive a Gold Palm, a Scout | must have earned an additional 10 merit badges. Other awards at the Court of Honor for the Sperryville Scouts of Troop 65 were as follows: Roy Thomas, Star Scout; Terry Raymond, First Class; Bill Kilby, Maury Nichol, Timothy Raymond, and Charles Thomas, Second Class. Mike Titchenell also earned Music, Gardening, Surveying and Chemistry Merit Badges, Tim Kilby received merit badges for Home Repairs, Chemistry, Farm Mechanics and Electronics; Leslie Titchenell, Chemistry and Gardening. Roy Thomas received merit badges for Horsemanship, Safety, Citizenship in the Home and Citizenship in the Nation. Roy Reeves and C. E. Dodson earned Safety merit badge. Jimmy Orange received recognition for having received his Tenderfoot badge.
Rev. Glaenzer Studies At Institute
The Rev. Charles F. Glaenzer is leaving this week to attend a three weeks course at Rutgers University School of Alcohol Studies at New Brunswick, New Jersey. Mrs. Glaenzer will accompany him in their mobile home “The Rambling Rectory.” During his absence the Rev. Gardner Van Scoyoc, Executive Secretary of the Diocesan Dept, of Christian Social Relations, of Alexandria will sup ply at the 11 a. m. service at Trinity Episcopal Church.
