Hints Recipe file cards are fine for keeping a medical history of each member of the family. Record illnesses and dates of vaccinations and shots, along with any other vital information. This card system is easier than keeping a book. If a mistake is made you can start a new card. When the children grow up and leave home, give each his medical record to keep. Place a 4-foot strip of heavy rubber matting under your youngster’s swing. This protects shoes from scuff marks and keeps mud to a minimum after a rain. Keep the top rim of a paint can clean with a covering of aluminum foil. Cut the foil about 3 inches wide and long enough to circle the can; press the foil down to cover the rim completely, before stirring or pouring the paint. When you finish painting, remove the foil and seal the can for storage. Lid won’t stick.

Line drawers for jewelry, stockings, sweaters and lingerie with quilted plastic. It protects the metals and prevents snags in the clothing.
