Slate Mills

Mr. and Mrs. Richard Dennis and family of Culpeper were Sunday visitors of the Rev. W. B. Dennis. Mr. and Mrs. W. B. Dennis, Jr. and three children of Winter Park, Florida arrived last Tuesday at the home of Mr. Dennis' father. They left Thursday for Bryn Mawr, Pa. for a visit with Mrs. Dennis’ mother and returned to Slate Mills on Tuesday. A family reunion has been planned for all the Dennis family to be held Saturday, June 26 at the home of the Rev. W. B. Dennis. John Frederick Dorman, of Washington, D. C. is spending several days as the guest of Lee Hudson and Karl Peterson at their home in Slate Mills. Robert Lee Barfield and family of Berryville and the Rev. Paul Davis, Jr. of Criglersville were Sunday visitors of Mrs. Hazel Barfield and Miss Alice Hitt. On Tuesday Mr. and Mrs. Tom Hensley and children and Mrs. Gladys Schlosser and daughter attended the graduation of their cousin and niece Miss Barbara Walker from Surrattsville High School at Clinton, McL Sunday visitors of the Schlossers and Hensleys were Joe Hopkins of Remington and Mr. and Mrs. Dick Hensley and family of Culpeper. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Scott and daughter of Alexandria spent Sunday with Mrs. Scott's parents Mr. and Mrs. George W. Tidier. Mrs. Lottie Thornhill and daughter Lou Ellen accompanied Mrs. James Glover on Tuesday when she returned to her home in Washington, D. C. Mrs. Thornhill and daughter will return home on Saturday. Audie Weaver and Mr. and Mrs. Virginia Weaver of Boston were in Waynesboro on Sunday to visit their daughter and sister Mrs. Gilbert Pullen and Mr. Pullen and family.
