Marriage Solemnized

Mrs. Shirley Kirby Smith of Radford, and William Atha Armentrout of Front Royal were married Saturday, May 29, 1965 in the Central Methodist Church, Radford. Dr. Scott McCormick, Jr., performed the ceremony at three o’clock in the afternoon. The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Mark Kirby of Radford and the late Mr. Kirby. Mr. Armentrout is the son of Mrs. Frank Armentrout of Front Royal and the late Mr. Armentrout. The Armentrouts were residents of Woodville, Rappahannock County, for many years. Miss Martha Kirby was maid of honor and sole attendant for her sister. William Siford of Front Royal was best man. Ushers were Robert Armentrout, brother of the bridegroom, and Donald Howell. A reception followed the ceremony at the home of the bride’s mother. Mr. and Mrs. Armentrout are making their home in Front Royal. Mr. Armentrout is a pharmacist with Trout Drug Company. Out of town guests at thej wedding were Mr. and Mrs. Robert Messick and son Steve or Roanoke, Edward Armentrout, Culpeper, Mrs. Floyd Brown and son Roger, Mrs. Charles Schomaker, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Compton, Misses Nancy and Carolyn Compton, Mrs. Frank Armentrout, Mrs. James Kenney and Mrs. William Wiseman, all of Front Royal and Miss Judith Latham of Amissville.

Hostess For Bridge Party

Mrs. L. J. Turner entertained with four tables of Bridge Thursday at her home on Mt. Salem Avenue, for the Washington Bridge Club and additional guests. Players were Mrs. R. V. Snead, Mrs. T. C. Lea, Jr., Mrs. Wade H. Massie, Jr., Mrs. D. D. Miller, Mrs. Louemma Moffett, Mrs. Henry M. Keyser, Mrs. F. B. Jacobsen, Mrs. T. C. Lea, Mrs. W. F. Moffett, Jr., Mrs. G. W. Smith, Jr., Mrs. Harry Lee Smith, Mrs. George H. Davis, Jr., Mrs. Gene Wood, Mrs. C. B. Palmer, Mrs. Elmo Flynt and Mrs. B. J. Wood. Prizes were awarded to Mrs. B. J. Wood, Mrs. Snead, Mrs. Keyser and Mrs. T. C. Lea.
