Sunday afternoon guests of the Woodwards were Mrs. Woodward's brother-inlaw and sister, Mr. and Mrs. John Hurt and Charlotte and Wayne of Criglersville. Wayne Hurt remained for the week with his uncle and aunt and Karen Woodward returned home with the Hurt’s for a week’s visit.

Father’s Day guests of the Rev. W. B. Dennis were his sons and families, Mr. and Mrs. Warren E. Dennis of Falls Church and Mr. and Mrs. Richard Dennis of Culpeper and his daughter Mrs. H. T. Smoot and family of Alexandria. Mary Frances Jenkins of F. T. Valley spent Friday with Joyce Jenkins. Mr. and Mrs. Robert E. McLaughlin and sons Bobby and Stephen of Washington, ^D. C. and a friend, Rene Soudee, came to Slate Mills this past week-end for a vacation on their farm "Monterrain’’. Mrs McLaughlin and the boys will spend the summer. Mr. McLaughlin returned to his work on Monday. Mrs. Ruby Jean Baber and son Brooke, who have been living in Denver, Colo, are visiting at the home of her sister Mrs. Norman Wilbur and Col. Wilbur and h^r mother Mrs. Iris Brooke. Mrs. Doris Brown of Marshall was a guest Thursday through Sunday of Mr. and Mrs. C. M. Ramey. Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Updike of Washington were Sunday callers of the Ramey’s. Mr. and Mrs. Ramey visited J. J. Baldwin at Browntown on Monday. Following a most successful Bible School at the Slate Mills Church the teachers and students went to Washington, D. C. on Saturday where the group spent the day at the Zoo at Rock Creek Park. Mr. Nor^ man Wilbur drove the bus furnished by the V.F.W. Thirtynine persons made the trip.
