friendly and accommodating. This was around 4;30 p.m. After resting for a while, I had the motel owner (his name escapes me) take me down to see my car. Both rear wheel bearings were being checked and the left one replaced. Mr. Merrill said to call him and he would send someone to pick us up and take us to dinner. This I did upon return to the motel. Mr. Merrill had Mr. Sisk pick us up and drive us to the restaurant and return us to our room after dinner. There was no charge for this service.

The next morning our youngest son had a touch of asthma; we again called on Mr. Merrill who gave us a debtor’s name and location and furnished his car to deliver us to the doctor and return us to the motel. There was no charge for this service. This to me was a service showing that he loves his fellowman and will give a helping hand to a stranger when it is needed. He is to be commended. Your city should be proud of such an individual. I have driven in 46 of our 50 states and this was the most courteous and kindest treatment I have ever received. Mr. Merrill has charge of the AAA repair unit there, and he does a wonderful job for them in his help to others. Please thank him again along with all of the others of your city who helped a stranger in distress. Today I feel that I know your town and its people. It must give you great pride to know what a friendly city you have charge of.

Yours very truly,
