Trial Winners
The 43rd annual Field Trials and Bench Show of the Virginia Foxhunters Association was held in Culpeper last week Wednesday through Saturday with the Bench Show being held Wednesday night at the Culpeper Agricultural Enterprises. A total of 479 hounds from throughout the nation were entered for the event. In the Derby Male Hound class first place was won by Snake Eyes owned by Parker Poole, Germantown, Md., second Stony Ridge Bomer, owned by Cook & Blankenship, Bassett and third, Pike Dandy Boy, owned by Edgar Pike of Bassett.
Derby Females: First, Princess of Chatham, Bill & Betty Shives, second, Rose Haven Maude, Clyde Rose, Elkridge, Md., and third, Lady Bird, Parker Poole, Germantown. All Age Males: First, ILL. Ch.- Echo, Cook & Blankenship; second, Tony Cook, owned by Hugh Cook, Boone, N. C. and third, Alleghany School Boy, Alleghany Kennels. All Age Females: Stony Ridge Ballarena, Cook & Blank enship; 2nd, Barrons Scarlet, Betty & Bill Shives and third, Roxie Cook, owner Hugh Cook. Matural Carriage class-winner, Toni Cook, owned by Cook and Jackson. Champion, Stony Ridge Ballarena. Best Opposite sex- Snake Eyes.
