Curtis J. Ireland of Boston was re-elected president of the Association at a dinner meeting held Tuesday night at the Culpeper Fire Hall. Dr. David H. Parker of Stuart’s Draft was elected first vice president to succeed Gerald P. Simmons of Clarksville. Leroy F.. White, Sr. of Fork Union was elected second vice president, succeeding Robert G. Apperson of Culpeper. Mrs. Doris K. Ireland will continue to serve as secretary-treasurer.
“Fancy," a foxhound owned and handled by Robert G. Apperson, Culpeper, won top honors having the highest score of all the 480 hounds cast. “Fancy," an almost white Walker female hound, was bred by C. C. Clark of Wood ville, sired by “Gangster Jake C" and out of “Funny Gal", both outstanding hounds. Besides being highest scored hound, the 19 month old Derby hound placed 1st for Hunting, 1st for Endurance, 5th for Speed and Drive, and highest score for an entry from the county in which the Trials were held. Other Apperson entries placing high in the all age stakes were: “Go-by", 1st for Trail ing and 5th High General AveF age; and “Dinah", placing 5th for Trailing. The top all-age hound was “Lady Bird’ owned by Harry Rinker of Stephen City, Va.
