Basic Knitting Class
The basic knitting class which began Thursday, October 28 under the instruction of Mrs. Mary Cleverley, Flint Hill was attended by eleven women, three of whom are in an advanced group. Mrs. Betty Baldwin of Viewtown and Mrs. Rachael Davis, Flint Hill, received certificates from a class last year taught by Mrs. Cleverley. Mr^ Nancy Z. Nicholas of Amissville completed a course held there last year. Beginners in basic knitting include Mrs. A. C. Hensley, Mrs J. T. Woodward, Jr. and Mrs. Lena Woodward, all of Castleton; Mrs. Barbara Hudson, Woodville, Mrs. J. L. Jenkins and Mrs. Robert Nethers, Flint Hill, Miss Susan Payne, Boston and Mrs. Joyce B. Welch, Hume. Mrs. Rachael Davis is assisting Mrs Cleverley with the instruction. If there are any “dropouts” from last year’s basic knitting courses, they will be most welcome to join this group by next class, November 4th. The class meets each Thursday evening at Mrs. Cleverley’s home in Flint Hill from 7 to 9 p.m. and will be concluded December 2. (There will be no class Thanksgiving night, November 25.) It is sponsored by the Rappahannock Arts and Crafts Committee with the assistance of Mrs. Doris Daugherty, Home Agent.
Hayride
The intermediate and young people of Amissville and Forest Grove Baptist Churches will have a hayride Saturday evening, November 6. All will meet at the Amissville church at 7 p.m. and leave from there.
Missionary Meet Tonight
‘The Sue Slaughter Missionary group will meet tonight Thursday, with the Mt. Lebanon Church group at Woodville at 7 o’clock. The study subject will be “Which Way Brazil”.
