A fact to bear in mind, however, is that if you want your coverage to start at the first possible month—the month you attain age 65—you must enroll during the three-month period before that month. The services covered under the medical insurance provisions include physicians’ and surgeons’ services whether received at -home, in the doctor's office, in a clinic or in a hospital...it includes up to 100 home health visits it provices other medical and health services such as diagnostic tests; x-ray or radium treatments; surgical dressings; splints, cast; certain ambulance services; braces; artificial legs, arms and eyes; rental of medical equipment such as iron lungs; and many other items and services. Services not covered include routine physical checkups, eye-glasses, hearing aids, private duty nurses, custodial care, and personal services such as a telephone or television in your hospital room.
