The Shenandoah Valley Educational Television Corporation today announced receipt of a grant from the Governor's Advisory Council on Educational Television. G. Tyler Miller, President of the ETV facility planned for the Valley area, announced that the corporation’s first application for financial aid available under the state plan had been approved for the full amount requested. In a recent appearance before the Advisory Council in Richmond, Arthur Hamilton, General Manager of the corporation, requested state aid in the amount of $14,000 for the planning and development stage of Shenandoah Valley ETV. It was the first application to be approved by the Council to aid an ETV organization In its development period. The state plan to encourage the development of ETV throughout Virginia will provide organizations similar to Shenandoah Valley ETC with financial aid based on the total capital cost of the project. Today's announcement concerns a preliminary grant. Hamilton stated that the corporation would apply for the full construction allocation for which it qualifies uponcomple-l tion of its building and equipment plans.
