Forest Warden for Rappahannock

County reports that three forest fires burned 7.50acres

of forest land in the county

last year.

For the 16-county Charlottes

ville District, a total of 321 fires burned 827 acres of forest

land. Many of these fires

occurred during the past unusually

dry fall and many

were caused by the illegally

! smoking of game from den , trees.

i However, the public in general

and especially the true

sportsmen co-operated with us in an excellent manner.

Thus, the number of fires

and their size were kept relatively
