In answer to many Virginia Federal taxpayers’ questions, James P. Boyle, District Director of Internal Revenue announced that when the last day prescribed for the filing of returns, payment of taxes or other acts falls on Saturday, Sunday or a legal holiday, the performance of such acts will be considered timely if discharged on the next work day. Good examples of this automatic extension are Employer’s Quarterly Federal Tax Return, Employer’s Quarterly Tax Returnfor Household Employees and Qua rterly Federal Excise Tax Return due Sunday, July 31.
