Culpeper Art Fair
Invites Rappk Entries
Rappahannock County artists are invited to participate in the fifth annual Culpeper Art Fair scheduled for Saturday, August 27, from 9 a. m. to 6 p. m. and Sunday, August! 28, 1 p. m. to 6 p. m. j It will be held Indoors this year with Adult entries to be exhibited in the Culpeper Fire Hall and Junior (pre-school through high school) entries in the nearby Municipal Building.
Entries are invited in six classes - oils, encaustic, casein, polymers and collage; water colors and pastels; mixed media; sumi-e and Oriental watercolors; drawings and prints; photography; sculpture and ceramics. There will also be special classes - Theme, “Beauties of Virginia"; Fantasy; Portrait and "Animal Kingdom." Cash awards will be given for the special classes and ribbons will be awarded in all classes. All paintings by both Adults and Juniors must be framed. Each painting must have the artist’s name, address and title on the back; in addition, Junior artists must put their names and ages on the front of their entries. No advance entry blanks are necessary. Adults will check in at the Registration table in the Fire Hall and Juniors will check in at the Registration table in the Municipal Building for identification stickers and numbers for judging.
Sponsored by the Culpeper Art Group, the Art Fair is for the benefit of the Culpeper Town and County Library’s book fund. Entry fees for exhibitors who are not members of the Art Group are $1 per entry for adults and 25 cents for juniors.
