Short Course

From June 27 to July 2, one of my dreams as a 4-H’er was fulfilled. To be able to go to Virginia 4-H State Short Course at V. P. I. was a thrilling experience that I shall not soon forget. Rappahannock’s five delegates to Short Course were; Aletta Beebe, Castleton, Sandra Foster, Flint Hill, Ellis Smith, Amissville, Tommy Williams, Flint Hill and Carter Moffett, Washington. Several thousand Virginia 4-H’ers attended classes such as “Your Career," “World Neighbors", “SongLeadership and many others. Each4-H’er could choose in the afternoons whether to attend demonstrations, go on tours or participate in athletics. Four highlights of Short Course were: “The Dress Revue", at which girls from each district modeled their winning articles of clothing that they had made, “The Talent Show , which selected the most talent ed performers in the different categories who would go to National 4-H Congress, meeting Miss Teen-age America
