Christmas tree, whether old-style or new, can be dangerous, warns the Institute for Safer Living. Special precautions should be taken to insure a safe home during this hazardous holiday season, starting with the Yule tree. If you purchase a tree from the great outdoors, cut the trunk on a slant at least one inch above the original cut> place it in water immediately and keep the water level above the cut at all times.
