What is an idea? Radiations from the cosmos? Where do they come from? They seem to arrive in our minds without our willing them to. Some of these ideas are not consistent with our highest ideals, these we discard, some we put into our storehouse of memory to examine more fully at some future time.
Have you ever heard a person ask in a belligerent manner: “What is the BIG IDEA?” Or in a more moderate tone, “What is the big IDEA?” What we would like to present to you at this time is - what IS the big idea.
Someone has said that an idea is pure reason, absolute truth beyond experience. Is it not ‘pure reason’ to be on the side of what is right. ‘Absolute truth beyond experience’ that every man must die, and after that the judgment. We are being judged each day by one’s self and by others. The principle idea in living is to acknowledge our creator. Where are the snows of yesteryear? Where are the people who once filled our churches? They are not all gone ’like last year’s snow’, we see them at other places. Indifferent? There is no law forbidding one attending church-yet. Let’s toy with the IDEA that our places are in God’s house on His day, that by His grace we will fill them. As a final thought, no one likes pain, so while you are there, give till it feels good. We are writing each day for others to see. What is the gospel according to me?
