Mrs. B. M. Vara
Mrs. Perle Coffey and Mrs. Clarence Jenkins were visitors Monday of James Ashby and Tom Jenkins, patients in University Hospital, Charlottesville.
Mr. and Mrs. Early Sisk attended the funeral of Mrs. Ernest Painter in Culpeper on Saturday. On Monday they attended the funeral of Mrs. Sisk’s brother-in-law, Morris Sisk in Fredericksburg.
Luncheon guests Saturday of Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Lyne were Dr. and Mrs. Dudley Thompson of Rolla, Missouri. On Monday night the Lynes were dinner guests of Comdr. and Mrs. Lawrence Thompson of Charleston, S. C. at the Holiday Inn in Culpeper.
Mrs. Gladys Anderson and son Bill were week-end guests of her sister Mrs. Larry Oden of Sharpsburg, Md. Mrs. Frank Cary of Woodstock and Mrs. L. C. Vaughan of Richmond were recent visitors of Mrs. Nina B. Brown. Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. B. M. Varner were Mr. and Mrs. G. Robert Shenk of Luray. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Codding of Fairfax spent the weekend with Mrs. Codding’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. George W. Hawkins. Vickie Dodson was an overnight guest on Saturday of her brother and sister-in-law Mr. and Mrs. Frank Dodson and son Frank in Front Royal. On Sunday they left for several days visit in Atlantic City. Mr. and Mrs. Haywood Griffith of Front Royal were hosts to a family picnic on Saturday night at Bruce’s Cabin on the Shenandoah. Those from here attending were Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Brown and children, Sherri and Rob and Mrs. Nina B. Brown. The Rev. and Mrs. William A. Harrison were in Wilson, N. C. on Friday evening, August 9, to attend the wedding of Mrs. Harrison’s brother, Tim Robertson to Miss Beverley Moore.
