GOP Convention for
28th District Here
Republicans from the Twenty-eighth Delegate District will hold a convention in the new Elementary School in Rappahannock, Saturday the 10th of May at 2:00 p.m.
The convention will nominate a candidate for the Virginia House of Delegates, subject to the General Election, November 4th. While no candidate has publicly announced for the nomination, party leaders say that several are seeking it, including a native of Rappahannock.
The Twenty-eighth District is composed of Fauquier, Rappahannock and Warren counties. Under a delegate apportionment plan agreed upon by the respective county committees, Fauquier will have 24 delegates, Rappahannock 4 and Warren 21.
Four convention committees - Credentials, Rules, Resolutions and Nominations will meet one hour prior to the start of the Convention.
T. B. Mercuro of Front Royal has been named Temporary Chairman of the convention.
