Nutrients are already becoming a problem in Virginia in the lower James River and the lower Shenandoah River, as well as the Potomac in the Washington area.
Virginians attending the nweting will be informed of the research and demonstration projects being carried out by the F W P C A to develop m o re economical and more efficient ways to remove nutrients from waste water and to control, or even reverse, the eutrophication process.
One of the projects to be described is a million dollar effort in Manassas, Virginia to remove Unwanted phosphorus from water and to evaluate a new process of removing nitrogen.
