4-H’ers Organize
Community Club
The first community 4-H Club was organized at Sperryville last week. The following officers were elected: Charla Sisk, President; Susan Coates, Vice President; Judy Atkins, Secretary; Margaret Hicks, Treasurer; Cindy Cumins, Reporter and Linda Clatterbuck, Song Leader.
Other members include Pam Deal, Ginger Scudere and Beverley Atkins.
The Club has chosen as their Club project: The Total You! They will be studying the importance of an attractive appearance, good grooming practices and a pleasant personality. Mrs. Charles Sisk and Mrs. Gordon Scudere will be serving as Club leaders. The Extension Home Economist for Rappahannock County, Miss Judy Burtner, is interested in starting such Community 4-H Clubs in other areas of the county for the summer. Tax Refunds
Ten weeks from the date a Federal income tax return calling for a refund is mailed, the taxpayer either has his check or a letter explaining why it is held up, James P. Boyle, District Director of Internal Revenue for Virginia, said today.
For this reason, a taxpayer who has not heard about his refund should wait ten weeks before writing IRS. By waiting this length of time, most taxpayers will find their inquiry unnecessary, Mr. Boyle said.
If it becomes necessary to write, the taxpayer should indicate where and when he filed his return and give his name, address and social security
