Sunday the Alfreds were visitors of Mr. Alfred’s aunt and cousin, Mrs. Kate Karl and son Wilbur of Rileyville. Miss Debbie Sommers and Miss Martha Chappell of Culpeper were overnight guests Friday of Miss Norma Lee Wilbur. Mrs. Hazel Barfield spent last week in Berryville with Mr. and Mrs. Robert Lee Barfield and attended the Apple Blossom Festival with them.
Saturday supper guests of Mr. and Mrs. Olney Kennedy were Mrs. Iva Jenkins of Nethers Mills and Mr. and Mrs. Douglas McFarland and daughter Jean of Winchester. The Kennedys were in Charlottesville Thursday and Mr. Kennedy had a checkup at the University Hospital. Mrs. Clarence B. Dorsey, Mrs. C. M. Ramey and Mrs. Russell Settle attended the “Defensive Driving Class” held Tuesday and Wednesday in Culpeper. Mrs. Wayne Butler entertained Friday night with a birthday dinner honoring her father J. B. Burke of Boston. Guests included Mr. and Mrs. Franklin Butler and daughters of Culpeper, Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Butler and Morris Butler of Washington, D.C., and Mr. and Mrs. Edmund Burke. Morris Butler and the Leonard Butlers were overnight guests Friday of the Edmund Burkes and Saturday overnight guests of the Wayne Butlers.
