Spring Gobbler Season

The Spring turkey gobbler

[season opened in Rappahannock and adjoining counties last Saturday. This season for bearded turkeys will last only until Saturday, May 9. Hunting Is1 permitted from 1/2 hour before sunrise until 11 a.m.

Gobblers checked in Rappahannock County so far include a 22 pounder taken by Charles Foster of Flint Hill and an 18 pound one bagged by Homer Lehew of Front Royal.

Arts & Crafts Meeting

The Arts and Crafts Group continued caning chair seats at the April 14th meeting with Mrs. Ruth Kilby as instructor. At the next meeting scheduled for April 28, a demonstration on tole painting will be presented.

Interesting programs planned for the future include antiquing furniture, wiring antique lamps and making lamp shades. Watch for definite dates for these meetings.
