Earlier that morning, a mile and a half north of Huntly on Route 522 a one-vehicle crash occurred. Mrs. Muriel Conner of Stephenson, Va. operating a 68 Plymouth skidded on ice and struck a rock retaining wall. The vehicle went over the embankment and came to rest on its side.
Mrs. Conners, 54, sustained lacerations and abrasions of the face and body and a possible fractured back. John Wayne Conner, 14, her son, sustained lacerations and abrasions of the face and body. Both were taken to Warren Memorial Hospital, Front Royal by Chester Gap Rescue Squad. Trooper K. L. Miller was in authority at these two accidents.
