Registration Day for

First Graders

Children who will enter the first grade in Rappahannock County next year will be registered at the Rappahannock County Elementary School on Thursday, February 25, 1971, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., it was announced today by O. A. Norton, Division Superintendent of Schools. Every child in the county who will be six years of age on or before October 1, 1971 is to be registered by his parent or guardian at this time. In order that adequate educational planning may be accomplished, it is very important that all entering first graders be registered on this day. Parents are reminded that they must present an official copy of their child’s Birth Certificate at the time of registration. Parents who do not have an official Birth Certificate should bring $2.00 to cover the cost of securing this record. The Public Health Nurse, Mrs. Frances Thornton, will be present at this registration session to explain to parents the required procedure for health examination and immunization of these preschool children.
