Readiness Program
Set for Summer
Rappashannock County is tentatively planning a pre-school program for all coupty children who will enter the First Grade for the first time in September, 1971. This program will be funded by federal funds and will involve no expense to the parents.
The program will be designed: to orientate the child to his new environment; provide the teachers an opportunity to diagnose the strengths and weaknesses of each child so that an appropriate program may be designed for him; and to provide some general readiness activities. These activities are tentatively scheduled for July 5 through July 30, 1971 and will be held at Rappahannock County Elementary School from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. Bus transportation will be made available along the main routes. In order for the school officials to plan properly for this program, it is necessary for each child to be pre-registered. This may be done at the same time that the child is registered for the regular school program.
