Jesse J. Jenkins
A funeral service for Jesse James Jenkins, 74, of Manassas, was conducted at 2 o’clock on Thursday, February 11 from the Geest Funeral Chapel, Culpeper. The Rev. H. B. Jones, pastor of the Assembly of God Church conducted the service. Interment was in the Sperryville cemetery.
Mr. Jenkins died February 9 1971. He was a retired farmer and the son of the late John Lewis Jenkins and the late Annie Jenkins of Rappahannock County. His wife was the late Daisy Margaret Jenkins. He is survived by two sons, James Ludd Jenkins of Centerville and Jesse Jenkins, Jr. of Manassas; four daughters, Mrs. Jerry Jenkins of Woodville, Mrs. Margaret Nichols of Bealeton, Mrs. Annie Backe of Culpeper and Mrs. Flossie Martin of Alexandria. He is also survived by one brother, John Henry Jenkins of Boston and two sisters, Mrs. Bessie Jenkins and Mrs. Fred Jenkins, also of Boston; eleven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Serving as pallbearers were Earl Wharton, Edward Leake, Gid Jenkins, Richard Jenkins, John Jenkins and James Fincham.
