Brochures Available

Richmond-The 1971 editions of three brochures on Virginia travel are now available from the Virginia State Chamber of Commerce in Richmond.

The brochures-“Tours in Virginia,” “Virginia Industrial Tours” and “Virginia Annual Events” are published annually by the State Chamber for national and international distributions, according to Jack R. Harter, the chamber’s director of travel development. The brochure “Tours in Virginia” lists 90 self-guided and conducted, auto and bus, boat and walking tours in 43 Virginia areas. “Virginia Industrial Tours” lists 108 tours in 47 Virginia communities while “Virginia Annual Events” lists 90 major events during the year 1971, he said. The tour brochure covers such items as a boat tour into the Dismal Swamp, the traditional historic shrines, scenic drives and unique attractions, Harter said. “For those who like to see behind the scenes of industry there is a wide choice from whiskey to men’s suits, from rocket and space research to ships, from meat packing to paper making and from textiles to soft drinks,” he pointed out.

Colonial weekends, rac'es, festivals of all types and sports events for spectators as well as participants are among the listings in the events brochure.
