Robinson is also among Congressional sponsors of a bill introduced to make it a federal crime to kill or assault a lawenforcement officer or firemen engaged in the performance of duty, if the offender travels in interstate commerce.
“The public safety demands that all practicable protection by provided policemen and firemen in the discharge of their oftenhazardous duties, and those bent on doing them violence should be on notice that the full resources of the Federal Government, including the FBI, will be available to bring the culprits to justice,” the Seventh District Congressman commented. The bill is aimed principally at provinding federal assistance in apprehending the assailants, and state court would continue to conduct the trials in most such cases.

Mrs. Lillian Fox and Mrs. Josephine Jenkins gave the program ’Tie Yourself into a Pretty Package" to the following members, Mrs. Gilkey, Mrs. Marie Williams, Mrs. Mary Mathena, Mrs. LaMerle Williams, Mrs. Nora Sealock, Mrs. Ethel Williams, Mrs. Bertha North, Mrs. Maybelle Henson and Mrs. Carolyn Leake. The next meeting will be on March 8 and the members will be working on ”Decoupage“. Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Reil and sons and Miss Nancy Moore of Front Royal were Sunday visitors of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Williams.
