Miss Norma Jean Gentry became the bride of Charles Burrell Wood, Jr. in a double ring ceremony on Sunday, February 21, 1971 at one Q’clock in the afternoon in the Allendale United Methodist Church, Saint Petersburg, Florida. The Rev. Samuel Paris Bell, D.D., officiated in a setting of white flowers, palms and lighted candelabra. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Marvin H. Gentry of Saint Petersburg. Parents of the bridegroom are Mr. and Mrs. Charles B. Wood of Blacksburg. He is a nephew of Mr. and Mrs. Brue J. Wood of Flint Hill and Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Smith of North Garden. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore an off-white delustered satin street length dress fashioned by her mother with a bateau neckline, Empire waistline and puffed sleeves. Her shoulder length veil of illusion was held by a bow of white velvet ribbon and she carried a nosegay of white daisies.
