As a final point, we must recognize the fact that Art today is a big business - paintings by such famous artists as Rembrandt and Van Gogh are bringing unheard of prices in the world’s marketplaces. Even children’s art has its place in these marketplaces. How many people received and wondered at the beauty of Christmas cards (e.g. the unicef series) bearing works of art done by children? So let us honor Children’s Art Month in Rappahannock by applauding our children’s creative efforts and by encouraging them to live fully, and to express themselves freely through Art.
