Most farm acreage has become unbelievably valuable. It’s increased in value many times in recent years. That is unless you have granted too many easements to somebody else.
Easements, like termites, eat away the value of your property. You rarely notice them until the property is destroyed and then it’s too late.
What is an easement? An easement is a liberty, privilege or advantage which its owner enjoys in the land of another. It becomes the obligation of the landowner to respect and defend that right to the easement holder.
Imagine having to forevermore respect and defend the rights of such an easement holder on your land. Imagine the privileges you have given away; the ability to construct anything to serve the easement holder’s desires and his ability to come on your property at any time to inspect, maintain, repair or rebuild. What would happen to your privacy, your peace o mind? You are no longer the ruler; you no longer own all the rights of your property.
