Mrs. Rosie Settle
A funeral service for Mrs. Rosie Byrd Settle, 68, wife of Harry Edward Settle of Castleton, was held Wednesday at 11 a.m. from Ihe Geest Funeral Chapel, conducted by the Rev. B. A. Grimes of Amissville. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery. Mrs. Settle who had been a patient in Fauquier Hospital since last August died there March 14, 1971. She was the daughter of the late Allie Horton and the late Elizabeth Horton of Rappahannock County. Besides her husband she is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Ennis Gore of Culpeper and Mrs. Eugene Freeman of Fairfax; seven sons, Harry Brown and Carroll Snead Settle of Castleton, Hugh R. Settle of Reva, Charles R. Settle of Estes, Brueton F. Settle of Front Royal, Fleet Taylor Settle of Falls Church and Fred Thomas Settle of Manassas; five sisters, Mrs. Eva Hitt, Mrs. Ethel Whorton and Mrs. Lottie Settle of Castleton, Mrs. Lacy Fincham and Mrs. Mattie Riley of Culpeper; 30 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was a member of the Massanova Penecostal Church.
