Three Rappahannock County officials will not be candidates for public office this fall in the general election in November. Mrs. Roberta Spalding will retire from the position of Commissioner of Revenue for the county; Henry Wood and L. H. Luttrell will not seek re-election to the Board of Supervisors from Stonewall and Jackson Districts, respectively.
Mrs. Spalding has held the office of Commissioner of Revenue since October 1951 and was associated with this work as deputy for three years prior to assuming the head position. She was appointed to fill an unexpired term and has since been elected five times to serve four-year terms.
