A few evenings ago I watched the play on television, Doctor Faustus. It seems that Faustus became bored with his life as a scholar and wanted to get into the big-time. Well, it seemed that the only way he could do this was to sell his soul to Lucifer, which he did. After several years of sensual pleasure, which to my way of thinking, was mostly illusion, he was called on to pay his debt. Is there an actual hell? I have heard of some sinners screaming as they died, already being tormented by fire. Some joke about it; they expect to meet a lot of former friends there. I think it was Yukon Jake who thought hell was a pretty good place till someone opened a door and a cold draft hit him. Some think it is so over populated there is little to dc except have a good time. I think ] had rather loaf somewhere besides hell.
