W.H. Tharpe
Wade Hampton Tharpe, 66, of Culpeper died June 27, 1971 at his residence. A native of Rappahannock County, he was the son of the late James and Lillie Tharpe. He is survived by his wife Mrs. Kate Carden Tharpe of Culpeper ; two brothers, Henry Tharpe of Rockville, M<J., and Eddie Tharpe of Culpeper; four sisters, Mrs. Bertha Pullen of Amissville, Mrs. Lizzie Tharpe of Lakota, Mrs. Helen Jeffries of Warrenton and Mrs. Maude Pullen of Manassas. | A funeral service was held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Gore Funeral Home Chapel, Culpeper, conducted by the Rev. John S. Farrar. Interment was in Woodville Cemetery.
William M. Turner
William Minor Turner, 49, of Front Royal died June 28, 1971 in Warren Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o’clock in Macedpnia Baptist Church in Flint Hill, conducted by the Rev. Carter Allsberry. Interment will be in Macedonia Odd Fellows Cemetery.
He was born in Rappahannock County, a son of Mrs. Roberta Taylor Turner of Front Royal and the late James Alfred Turner.
He was a former employee of Randolph-Macon Academy. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U. S. Navy, and was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church.
Besides his mother, he is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lorraine Myers Turner of Front Royal; two sons, Willie and William Turner, at home; three daughters, Mildred, Martha and Daisy Turner, all at home; one grandchild; three brothers, Clarence Turner of Front Royal, Richard Turner of Markham, and Allie Turner of Washington, Va.; two sisters, Mrs. Rosa Tyler of Front Royal and Miss Minnie Turner of Providence, R. I., and a halfbrother James Russell of Cold Springs, N. Y.
