Zoning Appeals Bd.

Rejects Campgr’nd

The Rappahannock County Board of Zoning Appeals rejected ff bid for a campground to be located on Route 622 in Rappahannock County. Four young women, Misses E. L. Fletcher, J. A. Gandy, S. M. Holsberg, and S. Y. Rowe of Reston, Va. made application for a special use permit to establish a family recreational park for the purpose of overnight camping, swimming, fishing and hiking, etc. Objections to the campground were voiced by several residents of the Route 622 area who felt the narrow road would not accommodate camping vehicles without creating hazardous conditions to all concerned. Some also felt that the proposed 40 acres would not be sufficient for all of the activity described and that a dumping problem already present in the county would be enlarged
