The egg masses are the most commonly transported stage (each containing about 600 eggs). These egg masses are tan colored, one to two inches long, one-half inch wide, and covered with light tan colored hairs. Cocoons, caterpillars, or adults might also be transported by an unsuspecting traveler. The cocoons are about one inch long, purplish-brown, and can be found anywhere.
