The Amissville Homemakers Ulub will see a demonstration at heir July meeting on plan and :ook-ahead meals. Mrs. Mason Hitt will be the program leader at the meeting which is scheduled for Monday night, July 5, at 7:30 p.m. Members and visitors are invited to attend.

Miss Habel said, “Ferns and other flat-surfaced leaves can be preserved by pressing, such as a leaf placed between the pages of a book, or between thick layers of newspapers. Although leaves so treated will remain flat, there are some interesting lines and shapes which can be retained.

The leaves will emerge brittle and not pliable as when the glycerine method is used.

“While using the pressure method to dry flowers, newspapers should be plentiful for their ability to absorb moisture. Weights can be used on top of the heap to help provide ever pressure,” Miss Habel advised
