A RAPPAHANNOCK FIRST — A tip of the old straw hat and a hearty pat on the back are due Donna Cannon and C.E. (Ned) Johnson Jr. for a job well done at the Eleventh Annual Vif^ginia Angus Breeders’ Show.
In keen competition with 37 bulls, representing some of the finest Angus breeding Virginia has to offer, Ned Johnson’s Rappahannock bred and reared Mighty Oaks 5 was named Grand Champion Bull. Mighty Oaks, a son of Piccard of Wye, weighed 1,080 pounds at 365 days of age. This big, growthy, heavy muscled bull was sold to White Hall Farms, Inc. at the Annual Culpeper Performance Tested Bull Sale.
Miss Donna Cannon, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Cannon of Castleton, showed the second place Senior Yearling Heifer, and won a second place rib- - bon in the Novice showing and fitting class.
