The Flint Hill Volunteer Fire Department will hold its annual carnival August 2-5.
A fireworks will be held Wednesday night, and a mammoth parade will be the following night.
There will be drawings and an auction sale Friday night. A first prize will be heifer and second prize, a pony.
The grand prize drawing for a 1972 Ford Torino will take place at midnight Saturday.
The parade will be led by Miss Dona Pillow, Miss Virginia 1972. Among other participants in the parade will be Miss Metro, Miss Janet Greenawalt and Miss Shenandoah Apple Blossom.
The second division of the parade will be led by Tam O’Shanters All Girl Drum and Fife Kiltie Korps of Somerset, Pa.
All told, the parade will feature about 160 units that will include school bands from Virginia, Maryland, West Virginia and Pennsylvania plus marching majorette groups, clowns, comic entries, floats and firefighting and.rescue equipments.
