A sea duck season was again approved for the state beginning September 23 and extending through the regular duck season. Only ocean waters and the Chesapeake Bay up to the first
highway bridges, except the waters of Pokomoke Sound, are open for this specialized shooting in advance of the regular duck season, and hunters must be 800 yards from any shore, island or emergent vegetation.
Scoters, eiders and old squaws are included in the
early waterfowl period with hunters allowed 7 combined
