A funeral service conducted by the Rev. B. G. Titchenell was held Thursday morning at the Clore Funeral Home Chapel, Culpeper. Interment was in Fairview Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were George K. Miller, H. B. Wood, Jr., Lacy Orange, Dutton Yowell, Fount Jenkins, Burton Orange, Kermit Weakley and Steven Dulaney. □

James Henry Smedley, 81, a farmer of Winchester died July 25 in the Winchester Memorial Hospital. He was born April 1, 1891 in Washington, Va. the son of the late William and Julia Ann Smedley.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Eva Elizabeth Clark Smedley; two sons, Cleveland E. and Earl M. Smedley, both of Frederick County; and nine grandchildren.
Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Janie Beahm of Washington, Va. and Mrs. Ida Clark, Winchester; and a brother, Louis
