Plants are available

THE VIRGINIA DIVISION of Forestry has a limited amount of Autumn olive and bicolor lespedezar for sale at $2.50 per 100.

Planted as one year old seedlings, these woody shrubs will provide excellent food cover in two to five years for quail, grouse; turkeys and other birds. \

Small -woodf&nd openings and border strips along the edge of a wooded area are good locations for wildlife habitat improvement. For example, a 1/8 acre patch of bicolor lespedezar is enough to feed a cover of quail. a. ■

Order forms can be obtained from Chief Forest Warden, C. W. Jenkins, Sperryville, the county agent or the ASCS Office.

To encourage landowner to plant wildlife food patches, the Agriculture Stabilization and Conservation Service has a cost sharing program that will defray part of the cost of sharing. □
