NO THANKS. We can agree with the observation made during last Thursday’s discussion that no county exists in a vacuum, but with Mr. Wood we’re not willing to translate this into regional membership in something that might become more trouble than its worth. One of the most clincher arguments given nowadays in support of “regional” groupings is that unless you g® along with this current bureaucratic fad, you’ll miss out on all those fat grants and goodies from Uncle Sam. Well, we share Mr. Wood’sv outrage that any public need might be denied for such a reason. If this is the way things work, then we should be asking for a review, not merely going along with the crowd. □

AT THE RAPPAHANNOCK Library on Wednesday, January 17 at 8 p.m., an evening of questions and answers on skiing is scheduled, led by Sally and Bob Palmer, certified professional instructors, parents of two U. S. Olympic Alpine Ski Team members, aftd former instructors at Big Devil Ski Area, Washington.
There will be ski equipment on display and information available on ski resorts and vacations. Dianne DeBergh and Jody Palmer will model ski suits and boots3 and Sandra Massie after-ski clothing from the Ski Chalet in Arlington. □
